Traditional celebration of "Teryan's Day"

On July 12, the traditional celebration of "Teryan's Day" took place in the birthplace of the great Armenian lyricist Vahan Teryan, in the village of Gandza, Ninotsminda Municipality, Georgia.

The poet's 140th anniversary this year was marked by the solemn opening ceremony of his restored house-museum, which was attended by the Ministers of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and Georgia, Zhanna Andreasyan and Tinatin Rukhadze, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia and Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, Ashot Smbatyan and Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Zaal Gelashvili, and guests from the Republic of Armenia and various regions of Georgia.

In his welcoming speech, A. Smbatyan thanked the Georgian authorities for their care for Armenian culture and quoted Teryan's famous words: "When you want your life to be like a clock, you must wind it like a clock."

The Armenian Ambassador concluded his speech with appreciation and gratitude to the benefactors who supported the museum's renovation.
