Concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Georgia in Tbilisi

On April 20, 2012 a concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia was held at the small hall of  Shota Rustaveli Dramatic Theater in Tbilisi.

During the concert the speeches of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian were delivered in the light of the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Georgia and Armenia. In the welcoming speech of RA Ambassador was mentioned that the established a strong political dialogue between the Presidents of Armenia and Georgia attaches a special importance to the bilateral relations.

In the message of the Minister of Foreign Minister of Georgia was particularly mentioned: “Georgians are well aware of most of the works by classic Armenian writers such as Hovhannes Tumanyan, Gabriel Sundukyan, Sayat-Nova and Avetik Isahakyan, and most of those writers have lived and created their works in Tbilisi. I would like to appreciate the fact that the Armenian-Georgian cultural ties continue through the new generations of our nations. I hope that such mutual concerts of Georgian and Armenian ensembles will continue strengthening traditionally friendly relations between out peoples.  

During the concert, as a symbol of the high-level cultural cooperation between both countries, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia for significant creative achievements in the spheres of art and culture, Vadim Shubladze the conductor of the Tbilisi State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after Zachariah Paliashvili was awarded with the Medal of "Movses Khorenatsi".

The concert of the “Little singers” ensemble headed by Tigran Hekekyan was attended by the heads and representatives of accredited in Georgia Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations, as well as representatives of state, cultural and public circles and Armenian community of Georgia.
