The first meeting of the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia with the diplomatic corps accredited in Tbilisi

On November 2, 2012 held an official reception in Tbilisi, dedicated to the Day of the Diplomat, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The purpose of the reception was acquaintance of foreign diplomats with the individual members of the new cabinet of Ministers of Georgia.

The reception was attended by representatives of accredited diplomatic corps, the Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Alasania, Minister of Finance Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Culture Guram Odisharia, Minister for Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili and other officials from the Georgian authorities.

The welcoming speech at the meeting was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maya Pandjikidze. Her Excellency touched the main directions of the country's foreign policy course and in particular noted that the orientation of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic integration remains unchanged, but Georgia will also try to improve relations with Russia. Minister of Foreign Affairs also stated that Georgia will continue to develop the traditionally friendly relations with Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The reception was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian.
