Diplomat's Day event in Tbilisi

On March 1st, in "Hayatun" cultural center of Tbilisi the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia organized a reception dedicated to Diplomat's day.

The presentation was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian, the leader of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bishop the Father Vazgen Mirzakhanian, the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Georgia, the Armenian community representatives.

Event participants were welcomed by Ambassador Hovhannes Manoukian, who, in particular, mentioned in his speech:

"Today marks the 21 years of the establishment of our diplomacy. We can be proud of the fact in spite of the threats and challenges facing young independent Armenian state, due to the professionalism of our diplomats, Armenia succeeded to build a stable, independent, and flexible multivector foreign policy course".

Speaking about the success of Armenia by means of diplomatic solutions , the Ambassador also stressed the role of diplomacy of Armenia, in ensuring reliable external policy support for Nagorno-Karabakh, as an independent state, in various international platforms.

After Manoukian’s opening speech, was held a concert program with the participation of community song and dance groups.

During the event, made a speech the leader of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanian, with words of gratitude and blessing.

Note:

On March 22, 2012, the Government of the Republic of Armenia, on the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, proclaimed March 2nd Day of the diplomat. It was March 2, 1992, Armenia acceded to the United Nations.
