Ambassador Vardanyan met the Head of State Agency on Religious Issues

On 19 November, Head of State Agency on Religious Issues of Georgia Zaza Vashakmadze received Ambassador of RA to Georgia Yuri Vardanyan.

Ambassador Vardanyan praised the role of the Agency in preservation of historical-cultural heritage.

The sides touched upon the issue of Armenian churches in Georgia and discussed the possibility of creating special committees to resolve the problem.

Zaza Vashakmadze mentioned that in the near future a religious council adjunct to the State Agency on Religious Issues would be established, which would carry out activities aimed at preservation of religious institutions in Georgia.

Ambassador Vardanyan offered to arrange a meeting between the Agency and the corresponding Armenian structures for cooperation and exchange of experience.

The Ambassador wished success to Zaza Vashakmadze in the implementation of future programs.
