Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia

On March 3, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who was in Tbilisi within the delegation headed by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, met with David Zalkaliani, the Foreign Minister of Georgia. 

The Foreign Ministers commended the current level of the Armenian-Georgian dialogue based on centuries-long friendship and mutual respect between the two peoples. The Foreign Ministers outlined future steps aimed at strengthening and enriching bilateral agenda, based on the perception of the two countries' strategic interconnectedness. The cooperation on multilateral platforms, including within the framework of the Council of Europe and Eastern Partnership, was highly appreciated.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and David Zalkaliani highlighted the importance of facilitating people to people contacts and strengthening the communication between societies, and signed a memorandum of intent within this context. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Georgia touched upon the joint regional and international issues, as well as the steps  aimed at preventing the spread of a novel coronavirus.

Foreign Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Zalkaliani discussed the issues of regional peace and security. In this context, Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan presented assessments and position of the Armenian side regarding the Nagorno Karabakh peace process.
