Musical evening of memory in Tbilisi

On March 2, 2012 the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia organized a thematic concert "Rock Against Violence".

Among the invited guests were representatives of Diplomatic Missions, cultural and public figures of Georgia, as well as representatives of Armenian Community. The concert began with a welcome speech of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian. Condemning all kind of phenomena, which carries violence and aggression, the Ambassador also noted: “These days we remember the tragic events that occurred at the end of the 20th century, on the threshold and after the destruction of the Soviet Empire. In particularly, the tragic events that took place in Sumgait, Baku and during the Nagorno-Karabakh war”. At the conclusion of his speech, stressing the need for peaceful resolution of the conflicts, the Ambassador of Armenia expressed the hope that our peoples will manage to turn the South Caucasus into a peaceful and prosperous region.

At the end of the evening, the guests released the balloons into the night sky of Tbilisi, symbolizing peace and harmony.

During the evening, the Ambassador Hovhannes Manoukian gave an interview to the Georgian public Russian language television broadcaster “PIK”.
