The concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi

On May 9, 2012 by the initiative of the cultural center "Hayartun" of Georgian Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church,
under the aegis of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia, by the assistance of the Ministries of Culture and Diaspora of RA and under the sponsorship of "Galust Gyulbenkyan" foundation a festive concert was held at Theatre of Young Spectators named after Nodar Dumbadze dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, to the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi, as well as the 20th anniversary of the formation of the defense army of NKR.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian, the Primate of Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Adviser to the President of Georgia Van Bayburtyan, Embassy staff, representatives of Armenian clergy and the Armenian community of Georgia.

During the concert in honour of 55th birthday anniversary of the hero of Artsakh liberation struggle Monte Melkonian were demonstrated documentary fragments about his activity.

At the concert were featured performances by "Jeyran” Dance Ensemble and "Nerses Shnorhali" chorus of the cultural center "Hayartun" as well as other dance groups of Tbilisi such as "Vank" and "Ani." The military-patriotic songs were performed by soloists Anahit Harutyunyan, Anna Pogosova, Henry Petrosyan, Anahit Khachatryan, Ani Kushyan and Malvina Akopyan.

In the course of the ceremony the military attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia presented to the veterans of  the World War II and the liberation struggle of Artsakh the commemorative medals "Admiral Isakov" and the letter of commendation from the Embassy of Armenia.

During the event an internet connection was established with Artsakh between the veteran of Artsakh war, a representative of Armenian community of Georgia Gagik Ginosyan and the group of members of Artsakh war.

Historian Yenok Tatevosyan talked about the episodes of the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Shushi.

The concert was led by Levon Chidilya
n, the artistic director of the Cultural Center "Hayartun ".
