Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia hosted a reception on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the country’s independence

The Embassy of Armenia in Georgia, organized a reception dedicated to the 21st anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia in Krtsanisi Residence Complex in Tbilisi on September 21, 2012.  

The celebration was attended by numerous representatives of the state, political, social and business circles of Georgia, heads of Diplomatic Missions and International organizations accredited in Tbilisi, military attaches, clergymen of Armenian Apostolic Church Georgian Diocese, as well as dozens of representatives of social and cultural structures of the Armenian community of Georgia.

In his opening speech the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian referred to the achievements of Armenia during the years of independence, peace and counteraction to the challenges in order to achieve the stable development, in particular, the Ambassador noted: “Henceforth, Armenia's reaction to such provocations, which may cause regional instability, would be decisive  and unambiguous. We want to make clear that the Armenian state and the Armenian diaspora are each a substantial structure that has to, and will always have to, be taken into consideration”. At the same time the Ambassador paid his attention to the prospects of deepening mutual relations with Georgia in the various fields, as well as gave high assessment to the role of Armenian community of Georgia in the development of relations between the two countries.

From Georgian side a complimentary address was delivered by the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nikoloz Vashakidze.

In the course of the official reception in honor of the 21st anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia the pupils of Tbilisi Cultural Center “Hayartun” performed festive songs, also were demonstrated videos about Armenia. At the event the guests were offered with traditional Armenian cuisine and each guest was presented with sweets produced by the Armenian confectionery company “Grand Candy”.
