Performance in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Tbilisi

30 April, 2014

On April 29 Petros Adamian Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theatre staged a performance in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The producer-director of the play was the art director of the theatre Armen Bayanduryan. The performance was held at A. Griboedov Russian State Drama Theatre.

Before the performance, Advisor to the Embassy of RA Levon Torgomyan greeted the audience and read the address of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of RA to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian: ''One of the most tragic pages of the centuries-old Armenian history was written 99 years ago, but unfortunately, this crime against humanity has not been properly condemned and punished till now. Only a year is left until the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The civilized world does not have much time left to fulfill its moral obligation in front of Armenian people.  Every year, on these days numerous events in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide are held in Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia. Today's performance is also an event devoted to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide''.

The theatrical performance - devoted to the 99th anniversary of the Genocide –presented to the Armenian and Georgian audience the tragic events occurred in 1915.

Primate of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the diplomatic staff of the Embassy of RA to Georgia, ''Vrastan'' newspaper editor-in-chief Van Bayburt, Armenian and Georgian public and cultural figures and representatives of the Armenian community attended the theatrical performance.
