RA NA President attended Eduard Shevardnadze’s Funeral Ceremony

On July 13 RA NA President Galust Sahakyan attended memorial service and burial ceremony of the second president of Georgia and foreign minister of the Soviet Union Eduard Shevardnadze held at Tbilisi Sameba-Holy Trinity Cathedral and in Krtsanisi former Presidential Residence.

NA Deputy Vardan Ayvazyan, Minister of Justice and former Ambassador of RA to Georgia Hovhannes Manoukian, NA Chief of Staff Hrayr Tovmasyan were in the delegation headed by Galust Sahakyan. Official delegations of 28 countries were in Georgia for participating in the funeral ceremony.

The next day RA NA President Galust Sahakyan accompanied by the Primate of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan visited Tbilisi St. Echmiadzin church, "Hayartun" cultural, educational and youth center of the church, as well as Khojivank pantheon of Armenian famous and public figures in Tbilisi and St. Gevorg church, where he particularly got acquainted with ongoing reconstructive works.

NA President and members of the delegation laid flowers at Khojivank pantheon tombstone and the monument devoted to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide located in the yard of St. Echmiadzin church.

Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of RA to Georgia Vahagn Afyan was accompanying the delegation headed by RA NA president during the whole visit.
